Description
The Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company, SKB, is responsible for the development and implementation of the Swedish radioactive waste management programme. Comprehensive national and international research has been conducted for many years in Sweden. Current SKB systems comprise a transportation system, a final repository for radioactive operational waste and an interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel. An encapsulation plant and a final repository for spent fuel remain to be built.
